Every Daughter Matters is the anti-human trafficking arm of International Mission Ministries, a not-for-profit Christian charity based in Australia. Working closely with Aashish (Blessings) Social Service in Nepal, the common goal is to eradicate the trafficking of vulnerable women and girls from Nepal. In addition, this mission includes raising awareness in local communities of the devastating issues that surround trafficking and to educate people in the ways in which traffickers operate. Although trafficking is a global issue, the border between Nepal and India is recognised as one of the major hotspots in the world for this activity, with an annual estimate of 20,000 women and girls lives ruined by this horrid and inhumane practice.
Nigel Swaby, Founder of Firstfruits Music Awards said, “I am delighted that Every Daughter Matters reached out, inviting us to be Ambassadors for this much worthy cause. As a disciple of Christ, I am mindful that God expects me to pour myself out for others. What the team are doing at Every Daughter Matters is exactly this, a selfless love which clearly reflects the Gospel in action. Philippians 2:3-4 comes to mind, ‘Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.’ ”
Ross Nancarrow, CEO of Every Daughter Matters commented, “I first met Nigel and his wife almost ten years ago when they attended a church I pastored in Perth, Western Australia. During this time I have found them above reproach in every aspect of their interactions with myself and the body of God’s people. Their mission to support and promote unknown Christian artists and to use music as a media to minister God’s truths through songs is a worthy cause to be admired.”
Backed by an international panel of highly regarded music professionals, Firstfruits Music Awards’ prime goal is to provide support and promote emerging Christian artists whose songs accurately reflect biblical truths. The grand prize of £25,000 in cash will help launch the winner’s career!
